Cancellation and Your Right to Waive It

Your 14-day right to cancel, the one exception for urgent work, and what happens if you ask us to start before the period is up.

Cancelling work you've booked with us

If you booked us at your home, over the phone, by email or through our online booking, you have 14 calendar days to change your mind. The period starts the day after the contract is made, and during it you can cancel without penalty.

The 14-day cooling-off period

This is the cooling-off period, and it comes from the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013.

It applies to work agreed away from a trader’s business premises, or at a distance by phone, email or online. Since we either come to you or take your booking remotely, it covers virtually every job we do.

If you cancel, we'll refund everything you've paid us, including any deposit, within 14 days of you telling us.

The one exception: urgent work

There's one exception. If you've specifically asked us to carry out urgent repairs or maintenance, that work isn't refundable. The exception applies only to the urgent work — anything else supplied at the same time keeps its full cancellation right.

How to cancel

To cancel, get in touch as soon as you can. Call 07851 911574 or email info@uberheats.biz. Please include your name, your invoice or booking reference and the date the work was booked for. A phone call or a short email saying you want to cancel is enough — you don't have to use the form below.

A cancellation form, if you'd rather write

If you'd prefer to put it in writing, copy the lines below into an email to info@uberheats.biz and fill in the gaps.

To: UberHeats, Wath upon Dearne, Rotherham, S63 7AE — info@uberheats.biz
I hereby give notice that I cancel my contract for the supply of the following service: ____________
Booked on: ____________
Name: ____________
Address: ____________
Date: ____________

Waiving the cancellation period

You can ask us to start work inside the 14-day cancellation period. Most people do — otherwise a boiler replacement can't begin for a fortnight.

If you ask us to start early and then cancel, you'll pay a reasonable amount for the work carried out up to the point you tell us. By agreeing, you are asking us to begin within the 14 calendar day cancellation period, and you accept that you'll be liable for the work done before cancellation if you later exercise your right to cancel. Once the job has been fully completed, the right to cancel it has passed.
